Problems and Opportunities– Part 2

D

In the last article, we had seen that India is a world leader in almost all segments like business, research, education, manufacturing and likewise. Indian working professionals are leading world’s best organisations all across the globe, but it is also a harsh truth that majority of Indian graduates are facing many challenges like not getting jobs, people landed to wrong industry, entrepreneurs not obtaining desire success and many such more. Today, we are going to discuss challenges and opportunities associated with the entrepreneurs and researchers in details.

1.3 Entrepreneurs Struggle and Fail

It is a serious fact that the most intelligent graduates prefer to take up jobs while the people who don’t get enough space in the industry go for entrepreneurship. Because of this, most people become fed up with their routine job life. Many of those who had opted for jobs try their hands in entrepreneurship and most of them end up as failures. The failures will then again start looking for jobs. The reason for their failure is that they just enter into entrepreneurship without proper preparation. This is one of the reasons most of the startups fail.

Some very common reasons for the failure of startups are:

  • Entering businesses requiring multiple skills. Most of us lack in this
  • Absence of proper Product Blue Print
  • Lack of proper Launching Pad
  • Lack of reserve fund

Business or entrepreneurship is like a vehicle. Just as all parts of a vehicle, like brake, clutch, gear, tyre, steering wheel and fuel tank should be in good condition for the smooth running of the vehicle, perfect business execution requires good team, sufficient money flow, strong concept, attractive product and the right business attitude. All these parameters make the business vehicle to chug on. If any one of them is missing, it will affect the efficient functioning of the business, and finally there will be a breakdown and a disastrous end.

The other big reason for the struggle is that the entrepreneur should have the natural instinct to find problems or loop holes in the available product and services (finding the GAP in the industry and society) and provide a solution for betterment. When the entrepreneur lacks this fundamental prerequisite as well as creativity, they are not able to fit themselves into this portfolio.

1.4 Researcher – Lack of Proper Resources

It is a glorious fact that the Indian community is one of the most intelligent and laborious among all communitiesof this world. They are leading a number of organisations world over not only in business ventures but also in research and design organisations or even political platforms. Our scientists and professionals are creating landmarks in every corner of the world in almost every segment. The Indian scientists and engineers can design and manufacture from needles to rockets and from satellites to nuclear power. Yet, we are importing almost each and every technology and product to fulfill our daily requirements.

Indian businesses have a tendency to import technologies, products and equipment from the developed world to fulfill market requirements. This is because most of the market is consumer based and businesses generally deal with the end users and finished products only. These actions not only create a long-term negative effect on the technology and economic sectors at the national level but also create many brutal social problems like brain drain and unemployment. Most of the organisations are not serious about innovations and research at organisational level, and they do not like to develop such facilities. This causes lack of investment in research and allied activities and the people who are fond of such creative professions miss the opportunity to utilize their potentials and finally they join either a domain that does not cater to their primary interest or migrate from the country. Cumulatively, these actions create long term detrimental results on thedevelopment of the society and the youth. The youth and the students lose their creativity and confidence. The youth having expertise are even bound to continue with such organisations where they perform only non-technical functions which lead to many societal problems.

There are very few state-of-the-art research and innovation centers and most of the available ones are in the government sector where everyone cannot make an entry. Because of such policies and practices, the youth are desisting from the fundamental science and research practices during higher studies.

The present situation is the cause of much worry because students are not getting jobs even though there is a huge demand in the industry. Most of the professionals are not getting the right environment and platform to explore their potential and creativity and so they are bound to work in any industry other than their core domains.

What can be the best practices to turn the Problems into OPPORTUNITIES?

Student life is career foundation part of any one and if she utilizes this four-five years of her life in anorganized manner, then she can lead her life to optimal success and can achieve what she desires. If we analyses success and struggling people around the world from all segments, we generally come out with a common observation that our hard work can be turned into success only when our action, learning, dreams works in the same TIME PATH and LIFE PATH.To understand it more clearly, let me explain in details. For example, if a girl, say  Hema , very Hard working and dedicated and ambitious  is dreaming to be an automotive engineer and dreaming to establish a manufacturing business around it since her childhood, then she should select some related courses  during  her under graduates program to upgrade her skills and capacities so she can work on her ideas and concepts and can develop  product(s) and further can start her startup during her journey. But unfortunately, if she graduated with some different courses like civil engineering or computer science or hotel management or other courses, now it will become very hard for her to work on her dreams as she had missed required fundamental skills to fulfill her ideas into products. Even if she starts chasing her dreams, then she definitely will trap into a struggling vicious cycle which may turn her life into unwanted results.  And truly saying, or it is a brutal truth, that most of the youth of our nation trapped into such situations after their graduation where they are not able to utilize what they learned during their college life but forcefully start wasting their potential and caliber by performing undesirable jobs and other task just to fulfill basic needs of their life. So If you are dreaming big and really serious to make it happen, then the first and foremost condition is that you must learn what you want to be in the life and should take appropriate action  to keep you aligned with your LIFE PATH and TIME PATH
