The Municipal Corporation of Bikaner has launched a large-scale tree plantation programme on World Environment Day. Mayor Sushila Kanwar inaugurated the programme along with Commissioner A H Gauri and Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Sharma by planting trees in Gandhi Park. On this event plants were presented to the media persons with a resolution of plantation. The Mayor called upon all the residents of the city to take a pledge to plant trees on this day and cooperate in realizing the resolve of a green and clean Bikaner.
Intensive tree plantation was done on June 5; by Universal Human Rights Council, Bikaner on Environment Day. Council General Secretary Nimish Gupta told Shadwal that under the chairmanship of Mayor Bikaner Sushila Kanwar various activities were organised in Bikaner city. 108 trees were planted by Sonali Gupta, Lalit, Subhash, Inderpal, Rita Tiwari and other members of the Universal Human Rights Council at various places in Bikaner.
The mayor said that today the earth, air and water have all become polluted. Trees play an important role in maintaining environmental balance and keeping the environment pure. Trees play an important role in environmental balance. Along with tree plantation, we also need to take care of them. BJP women president Madhurima Singh said that, due to indiscriminate felling of trees, the balance of the earth is deteriorating. We all should participate in some form or the other for environmental protection.
